The Hargreaves Foundation supports The Connie Rothman Learning Trust

The Trustees of The Hargreaves Foundation are pleased to have provided funding to support the “Close the Gap” summer school delivered by The Connie Rothman Learning Trust.

Over the summer children who are economically or educationally disadvantaged have been given access to additional tuition in Maths and English.  Led by Headteacher Roz Parsons at the school, much of the teaching is provided by recent A Level school leavers.  Students from school years 4 through to 10 attend 2 days per week over the summer holiday.

“We know that many children have fallen behind with their education during the past 12 months and the “Close the Gap” programme has targeted those in need across the Bournemouth area, helping them to catch-up over the summer break.  Furthermore we are pleased to see a number of recent school leavers work as tutors and benefitting from paid employment experience.”
