The Trustees are thrilled to confirm funding for Dreams Come True to provide 5 specially adapted trikes to Lancasterian School in West Didsbury. Dreams Come True is a national charity which has been delivering dreams to children and young people with serious and life limiting illnesses for 33 years. The charity believes that every child and young person has a right to dream, no matter who they are or where they live. Dreams Come True focus their efforts on supporting those living in the hardest to reach and most deprived areas of the UK.
The beneficiaries of the funding are students at Lancasterian School. The school provides a quality, inclusive education for pupils aged 3-16 with a wide range of special educational needs including physical difficulties, complex medical conditions, communication needs and Autism as well as associated learning difficulties. The 5 trikes will benefit a significant number of students at the school. The trikes will give these students the opportunity to participate in sports rather than being limited to watching from the side-lines. Further, it will enable the students to access outdoor spaces and to experience the mental and physical health benefits of participatory sports.
