The Trustees of The Hargreaves Foundation are delighted to announce funding for Rackets Cubed in support of their unique sports-based learning and nutrition programmes that helps vulnerable young people fulfil their potential and improve their wellbeing.
Rackets Cubed is a national charity committed to transforming the lives of underserved young people in the UK's most deprived communities through innovative STEM-focused programmes. Having pioneered, and delivered, a programme that uniquely combines racket sports, hands-on STEM education, and nutrition since 2016, their work has been recognised by major funders such as Sport England who have awarded them Tier 2 status for robust governance, safeguarding, and operational practices.
Their programmes operate in multiple locations across the UK, using inspirational venues like the National Tennis Centre for academic enrichment, and reach over 900 children aged 7-11 each week. A partnership with The Hargreaves Foundation will support the continuation and growth of their transformative sport, education, and nutrition programmes for 180 children across six locations in Roehampton and Wandsworth each year, over the next three years. Many of these young people face a range of complex challenges including poverty, food insecurity, limited access to extracurricular activities, and reduced educational opportunities. This funding will contribute to the overall programme costs, enabling Rackets Cubed to continually provide a holistic, engaging, and fun approach to learning and development, supporting children in a way that single-focus intervention cannot.
