The Hargreaves Foundation supports Andover Riding for the Disabled

June 2024

The Trustees of The Hargreaves Foundation are pleased to announce funding for Andover Riding for the Disabled, an independent incorporated charity that has been established for over 50 years, bringing joy and the multiple benefits of horse riding to countless children.

Attracting riders from all over, including Enham Day Services, Mencap, Wolverdene, and the Mark Way special schools, Andover organise two-hour long riding sessions, four days a week. In the past year, they have provided over 120 sessions to children and adults with special needs.

With twelve Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) ponies, there are many ongoing costs including maintenance, accommodation, transport and equipment. The funding from The Hargreaves Foundation will support these costs, enabling Andover to continue their sessions and provide many more children with the opportunity to ride a horse and benefit from being in the countryside.
